Private phone calls?

I met this guy. I live in illinois and he lives in peoria illinois. he gave me his cell phone number . I called this guy on his cell phone and received his voice mail. Now he called back private. I do not answer private calls, so I let it ring. he im me on the computer and said that he was calling I asked him why is he calling me private and i have his cell phone number. so he called again and I answered this time he told me that sometimes his home phone number comes up private. I do not believe this I kind of get the feeling this guy is hiding something I have not known a telephone number to come up private with out putting in the number to make you home phone number private. This guy always call me on his cell phone , but anytime he calls from his house phone it is private . What would you do in a situation like this?

as far as i know you need to set or request your number to show as private. i guess the only thing you can do is get to know the guy better, but be careful! you never know. he may just be screwing around with you. there are people like that. give him the benefit of the doubt. and if you continue to feel weird about him then leave.

Actually that happens to me fairly frequently. I never put my phone on private...but it randomly comes up that way sometimes.

Go with your gut...but some folks numbers just show up private...they pay a fee for that service to the phone company...but he can unblock it...
maybe he doesn't trust you enough to give you his home number just yet.

He's not hiding anything. I have been with my bf for a year and when he calls my cell phone it comes up private as well , he set his phone like that. I know nothing is going on because we live together. My man calls different places and doesn't want his number out and its too much of a hassle to undo it for me all the time . As for the house phone if you let the phone company know you want a private number they will give it to you that way for a fee

What do YOU think you should do? What do YOU think he's doing? He doesn't want you to know his number. Sounds like your relationship is off to one heck of a start.

ask his wife. she tell you.

well its possible he could be hiding something but actually u can set your house phone number to be private to call ppl honey. u have to pay extra tho.....so he might be telling the truth...i know cuz my mom has that block on her phone too... and if u dont believe and it's bothering u, call your local phone company and they will explain how u can pay extra to block your number at all times

He don't want to give out his home phone number so he uses *67 when calling you to make it private.He may have a wife or girl friend that he is hiding or live with the parents.

If/When you meet up with this guy, sneakily try it for yourself lol.. hmm, well actually that prob wont work.. erm, Depends on how much you really do trust this guy and how much you know about him. To me, i agree it sounds like he may be hiding something. But some people ring me, and its on private and they say it does it sometimes.. bt then again they could be doing the same thing. I guess, you just need to get to know the guy, and find out the truth.. theres no other way.. other than sneaking about til you find out.. bt then if you are wrong about this guy and he was telling the truth.. you may feel bad.. so its up to you.. sorry i couldn't help. He just has an unlisted number. He requested it that way from the phone company. I think your overeacting and a little paranoid. He gave you a number to reach him right? I wouldn't if I didn't want to talk to you.
