Is this a criminal offence?

I have been stalked by a psycopath who goes by the id hateful cow. All well and good on here, however an address and telephone number has been posted as a comment by her on one of my best answers. Luckily, it's not me, but if it had been would this have been grounds for going to the police? It's rather worrying that he/she is going to the extreme of trying to find out my home address isn't it?

She HAS been reported, obviously, time and again by others as well as me. But I'm slightly freaked by this.

why dont you report this person to yahoo. if you have evidence of the threatening behaviour, take it to the police.

Not yet, only when they get your address right can you prove they have broken a law, and it would still be hard to do. Its view worse to call them a psycopath in the polices eyes. I knows its not good to hear but we do seam to support the villein more than the victim. Report to yahoo and get her banned but she will just create a new account and hunt you down. Its probable just someone playing around the webs full of them, no doubt this kid is about 12 and get their kicks from worrying people.

If its not an offence it should be, and maybe person should be denied ability to be on here or any other site, if it happens again why not go to police

Cyberstalkers are mostly harmless from my experience.

I belonged to a large website community and some of the idiots from there have posted my personal info here at Yahoo! Answers because they think they're funny.

I'm a guy though and you appear to be a female. I understand your apprehension.

If you're concerned you can always create another account. I know you shouldn't have to but sometimes it's easier. And stay this one for a while.
And yes it is a criminal offence to stalk, even on the Internet.

Stalking IS an offence,but as with all crimes,you would have to prove it,beyond doubt. More to the point,WHERE is this person getting others phone numbers and addresses from?

She has posted an address as an answer to a question you also answered on Action Men. When I hit the report button, the id of the abuser came up as yours.

How rude! And yes, it would have been grounds for calling the police. It's threatening behavior.

It sounds like you have several people coming to your aid, but I'll keep my eye out for her just the same.
