How do i get started on my xbox 360?

i just bought my xbox 360 elite but i got it used so it doesnt come with a box or manual but i think that it comes with everything and how do i join to xbox 360 live?? i have access to the internet and last time i triend to connect it but the cable that looks like a telephone cable doesn fit in the phoneline what sould i get to make it fit? if details needed tell me in a comment then answer it thank best answer=10points

and if i have to buy something how much will it cost?? and where can i get it??

To go online, you need to connect your 360 to your router using a standard ethernet cable. The connector looks like your regular phone line, but is wider. Your phoneline will NOT work for this purpose. Also, this assumes you have some form of broadband, usually via DSL, Cable, or Fiber. A regular dial-up modem is not fast enough, and will work with the 360 for online purposes.

If your router is too far away from where your 360 is, you can get a wireless adapter for the 360. This assumes your router supports wireless (most do.)
