9.If 2x+5=-25 and -3m-6=48, what is the product of x and m?
(1) -270 (2) -33 (3) 3 (4)270
** for 9 could you possibly tell me the steps, i tried it and i keep getting it wrong and i think m doing a stupid mistake

14. In a telephone survey of 100 households, 32 householdspurchased brand A cereal and 45 households purchased brand B cereal. If 10 households purchased both items, how many of the households did not purchase either brand A or brand B cereal. Show work.

9) solve one at a time here
2x+5=-25 subtract 5 from both sides
2x=-30
x=-15 and then
-3m-6=48 and we add 6 to both sides
-3m =54
m = -18

yep - the question is wrong or the answers are
cuase I get 540 - and I kant spel werth crap

14) Guess we have to clarify - - is it
32 households A ONLY
45 B ONLY
10 A + B

or 32 A of which 10 also purchased B
and 45 B of which 10 also purchased A

FIRST SOLUTION
100 - 32 - 45 - 10 = 13 didna like either A or B

Second Solution
10 Purchased A and B
32-10 (both) = 22 A only
45-10 (both) = 35 B only

100-10-22-35= and u got it from here - my fingers are tired

you know why . . other can not just answer your question
it is because sometimes the presentation of the problem is not clear
even though they are willing . .. still they could not
because they could not interpret it.

ill juz jump on #9 ,, f 2x+5=-25 2x=-25-5 2x=-30 then x=-15 since we divide both w/2 to get d value of X..in getting d value of M ,,-3m-6=48 -3m=48+6 -3m=54 then m= -18
sinz we dvide it by -3..then multiply (x)(m) which s (-15)(-18)
d product will be 270

on#14 100(total households)minus 32(hs purchase BA cereal)minus 45(hs purchaseBB cereal) minus by 10(hs purchase both brand),,13 left househoulds didnot purchase,,
