If i have att 2 wire gateway should i have an att router to be compatable to the modeum? |
i have a laptop computer and i just got the att 2 wire gateway highspeed internet service. can i get a router so i can use my computer any place in the house. right now i have to set with the computer hooked into the ethernet wire in the middle of the livingroom where the jack is for the telephone. i want to know if it is possible to hook up a router so i can have wireless & be able to use the computer in other areas of the house? what kind of router if possible should work good with the att 2 wire gateway modeum? any helpful answers will be appreciated If you have the gateway, it has a wireless router built in. I assume your laptop has wireless capability. Do a scan and connect to your router. I would read the the instructions to set up your router first. Change your router name and set up your security to WPA encryption. After setting up the router, write down your password somewhere. Check out the support section at ATT for more info. |
