Can a wireless router with 2.4Ghz interfere with a wireless phone at 5.8 Ghz?

I have a wireless computer network running on 2.4Ghz, plus I also have a wireless telephone that runs on 5.8 Ghz. The instructions on the phone say that if there is a wireless network running on the same waves, they can interfere, but will a higher range (5.8) interact with the lower range wireless network (2.4)? Should I also keep other 2.4 Ghz electronics away from the wireless network so they won't clash? Also, I have another phone that is only 900 Mhz. Should I keep it away from my wireless network so that it won't interfere? I did have a cell phone on by my old network and the wireless computer network malfunctioned when the cell phone got too close. Thanks to all those who answer this!

It does not usually interfere but it can. Since these don't operate anywhere near the same frequency they ordinarily won't create interferance with each other. If something is wrong inside the transmitter circuit it could be possible. 900 meg on the other hand is where cell phones operate (some do anyway) so they often interferred.

Some things to watch -- Microwave ovens can interfere on 2.4. 2.4 gig telephones can interfere with 2.4 wifi. Your neighbors or your 5.8 phones can interfere on 5.8 wifi etc etc.
Since all this is open and free to use there can be other devices that cause interferance.. We found a wireless weather system (about 200 feet from our AP) was killing our local system changing channels fixed the issue.

It shouldn't interfere too bad because of the different frequencies. But I would test it first so that it doesn't happen at a very inconvenient time. This is just one of the reasons I prefer my wired network.
