Are the installing of microwave towers prohibited in residential areas in Western Countries?

In the search box I have gone through quite a number of messages relating to microwave towers being harmful to human beings.It has been confirmed that the radiation from microwave towers is harmful to the human system.My schoolmate who settled down in Australia told me that in that country the settingup of microwave towers is allowed in non-residential areas only.Even those living in villages there object to installing microwave towers there.Here, even The Telephone Regulatory in India has also given strict instructions that microwave towers should be installed only in commercial areas or open spaces.The Government of Karnatak has issued a blanket circular allowing telecom companies to install anywhere they like violating Article 21 of the CONSTITUTION. and other connected Acts like the Air Act,etc and also relevant provisions under the IPC and Cr.pc.I tried to get a reply in the search box .No appropriate reply is found.I request you for an answer.

In the UK there has bean a lot of discussion by the media
and Parliament on what we call mobile phone mast and
scientific studies on the danger they pose but no findings
have found them to be harm full.The general public do not
believe these findings but still they go up,hidden behind petrol/gas station hoardings disguised as trees also
and many other disgiusses are used to hide them.
When the public learn they have put planning permision
to erect a mast naer schools or residential areasthe write
in to the planning officer objecting to the towers, some times it works and permition to erect is refused.
