If complexity means that things have to have been designed, then why do complex designed things also evolve?

The bike, the telephone, language. All were designed by intelligent people, but not in one go. They started primitive and then evolved, and are still evolving now.

It's not an answer to say "God is more intelligent than man". The intelligent design argument says "complexity = design". But you can clearly see, even when complex things are designed, that evolution, trial and error, change, adaptation, a move from primitive to complex, and the survival of the viable occur.

It sounds as though you have been fooled by the
"intelligent design" idea. This says that there are
things that are "irreducibly complex" so that they
couldn't have evolved because all the parts have
to be there or they wouldn't work. Therefore any-
thing irreducibly complex must have been created
because it couldn't have evolved.

Unfortunately, there is no proof that there is anything that is irreducibly complex. The usual
examples given have turned out NOT to be so.
Furthermore irreducible complexity, if it exists at
all, would be a sign of poor design. A good
design has fail-safes built into it so the whole thing
doesn't break down if one tiny part fails.

I agree with you. I don't understand why creationism and evolutionism are often thought of as being mutually exclusive.

lets say perhaps that everything was created imperfect so it has a purpose... to strive toward perfection.... notice the room left to evolve, or for things to be improved upon in this world, we havent even touched the surface...

I am a fashion designer and I cannot agree with "complexity = design". In fact these 2 can hardly be equated by using a postulate. let me make it clear:-

1. Complexity would DEMAND a good design purely by virtue of the fact that if complex structures are not planned and designed, they shall be nothing more than a heap of rubble.

2. Conversely, to achieve the simplest form of a design may require a stroke of genius. It requires you to take the essence of existing design and use tremendous lateral thinking. Without such approach we could have never moved from heavy elaborate armchairs to single piece plastic chairs that have several intelligent prototype options designed over the years. These have proved to be sleek, portable, sturdier, easier to manufacture and hence cost effective. Simplicity has its own charm and may have a story of great intelligent design. Think of the Zen approach to living.

3. A mind that designs has been taught never to assume that any given design is perfect..... Hence improving the existing imperfection evolves any existing design, whether complex or not. Evolution could lead to simplification or over-complication of design also depending upon the way you look at it.... a Swiss knife may be a complicated version of a basic knife or a simplified version of a box of tools.

theres nothing so complex 'bout that......things r inproved so thjey r more adaptable, versatile, advanced & stylish.....this is a process thatll go on !!
