I am unable to handle multitasking with my brain. Any suggestions?

At the exact moment my telephone rings and my wife wants to know how best to cook the ladyfinger curry, my Boss on the intercom wants to know the progress on the Action plan 2007-08, and there are 101 problems I ranked Priority - 1 demanding attention and action all at the same time.
Will you believe it - I am required to be extremely correct, polite and brilliant in all my answers just to remain alive in this skin God gave me?
Now what other measures besides running away to Nepal disguised as a Naga sadhu, or after downing two 'Salty Dogs' giving a sound tongue lashing to my Boss and the wife, would you suggest for me to live on?

Just do the most important thing first and explain to anyone else giving you a request that it will have to wait.

Priority one: Family (outside normal working hours)

Priority two: Work (can be priority one if during normal working hours, except for family emergencies)

Accept the fact that you are male, and this is the way your brain functions! Men are great at focusing on one thing at a time deeply and intently and women are great at getting a lot of things done at the same time.
But it really seems that your problem is one of too much communication. Our ears can only process one voice at a time (to test this out have two people read a different poem aloud to you simultaneously. Nobody will get very far). We should take this as a hint. Make use of caller ID. Turn off your cell when you're near another phone. Keep your away message on when you're not online to chat, or better yet, get rid of IMing altogether. It just ends up being a big waste of time, any way.
Get creative; it's the only way you'll get back your sanity.

My advised to you is take 2 pegs of whisky daily when go to work and have lot of confidence with you.
then you can handle no. of people at a time.

So is life my friend........rule number one, which is the most important may I add is this: YOU CANNOT PLEASE EVERYONE.

You can't rank everything priority 1. If you are at work thats the main priority so tell wife not to call unless its lunch hour.
If you are at home shes the number one priority and politely tell boss you'll call him later or see him the next day.
You gotta choose it can't be all or nothing, if you try for that you will never be able to accomplish anything to the best of your ability.

the best way to handle situatins like this is to practice meditation this not only increases ur emory but also helps to focus on multitaskin.drink lot of water and keep ur cool and ur priorities

Till 40-45 years your problems are simple to be solved and multitasking is easy but later certain interests and expectation on the return would discourage. This is your problem, the lack of interest.
How to make oneself interested in something is arousing his interest on what he wants BUT though achieving these interests. By saying words, it is so simple, but practically hard. We learnt about the opposing surroundings.
There is one solution - All of a sudden stop all activities and relax for two days at some remote area and return after 3rd day. During the course, forget every unimportant past days. Do not take any money in hands during such two days excile as the time is to be useful to understand the world, people, places and different lifestyles. (2 days walking would do). I believe we can keep our mind concentrated on one main thing as we focus on other things , such as when driving and holding a conversation while we're listening to the radio , with an awareness of our conditions and surroundings . We don't necessarily perceive it as being overwhelming when it is enjoyable .
