Phone Harassment/CyberStalking?

A few weeks ago I made the mistake of visiting a psychic just for fun. She asked me to write my name and telephone number on a scrap of paper to help her read my future(which I now realize was a huge mistake). She claimed that I had a curse on me and for $900 she would lift it. I paid her for the one visit but not the $900 to try to lift the spell. A few days later, she calls me claiming that I owe her $900 for casting a spell for me that I never requested. Since then, she has been calling every day, multiple times, and I just ignore the calls because I work and am usually too busy to answer when she calls. But everyday her voicemails sounds more and more desperate and I am beginning to worry that she's mentally unstable and might actually come after me for the money. Can I charge her with fraud even though I didn't pay her the $900? Or can I sue her for harassment/stalking?

Seriously, take her to small claims court. Costs usually 15 bucks, and take your court case to the judge.

Imagine her trying to explain her case - and then legally, you can ask that she cease and desist her contact with you OR any of the names and numbers you gave out - the judge will easily honor that when you win against this nutcase.

In fact, if she's using your cell minutes (and you can prove it), you can sue her for costs associated with doing unwanted business with you.

Do you have a contract you signed with her?

Perhaps you should visit the Better Business Bureau.

Do you believe in psychics? Perhaps you can find some association of psychics that can you advise you on what to expect from doing business with them.

You could change your phone #, make the new one unlisted, give it out to everyone except the psychic.

Unfortunatly I can't give specific legal advice. However I would start recording phone calls as soon as you can and collecting evidence. Get in contact with a lawyer to answer your questions immeadiatly.

Save all the messages. Call the pigs on the non-emergency line and tell them you are being harassed and wish to file a complaint. Play the messages for Johnny Law. Multiple unwanted calls in a single day is the key. If you have some credible evidence to show the Po Po, they should be willing to get the D.A. to file a charge.
