Do ucas check references? |
im applying to uni as a mature student and have an old reference one of my teachers wrote for me about 2 years ago when i was applying for a different course- is it ok to use that? i dont have her telephone number and only have an old email address. im also unable to contact her to ask her if its ok to use it??? i dont know anyone else who could write my reference and she has known me throughout my school years and if i was able to contact her im sure she woulnt say no i cant use it but if ucas want to contact her what should i do? do they check the references? would it be ok if i put her old email address? what should i do? help! thank you for your answers in advance x i should also say that i will be able to take a written and signed copy of the reference to my interview I believe these are done at random and are in addition to any checks the universities themselves do - frequently UCAS send out fraud warnings to universities advising that Mr X is undergoing a fraud check and that they are contacting references and demanding to see original certificates before the application continues, so although it is tempting to make up your own reference I'd advise against it!heck references? |
