I was fired for not hitting sales goals; Can I get unemployment?

I filed for unemployment and was notified that I have a telephone interview scheduled to determine if I get the benefits. Would there be any reason to deny me from benefits? Well i had the interview this morning and he asked me one question he asked if I knew if I didn't hit the goals that I'd be fired. I answered it honestly. I tried explaining that I didn't think I'd be fired but when I found out two other people were fired then I knew the company would fire me. Again I tried explaining but he said "it's either a yes or a no answer" of course I answered yes. So what do you guys think?
God this is so frustrating! I only worked there for 2 months.

I think you're still eligible for unemployment unless you do something serious against your employer's interests, but I think you should contact an attorney in your state to verify that.

You should be able to.

Unless the employer can show that you didn't hit your sales goals because of willfull lack of trying.

IE: you just didn't try very hard.

Generally if you are fired for violating company policy, you cannot collect unemployment.

But if you are fired, because you just cannot do the job, you can collect unemployment.

If you answered yes, start looking for another job preferably not in sales

Just don't hit the sales girls.
