Best DSL or Internet service deals in PA? -- please help!?

What are the best DSL or Cable deals in my area (Phila. PA)?
I would like to switch from dial up to faster better service & want to go wireless so both PC and Laptop can be on-line at once.

I'm looking for a good deal in my area, Philadelphia suburbs. I do not currently have cable TV and don't really want it.

There were some companies offering telephone & DSL or Broadband together but I heard they were going under. BTW what is the difference between DSL & Broadband?

I would appreciate serious answers, as I need to begin using this over the summer for graduate classes.

I live in phila and use comcast cable for my internet serivce, for dsl check with verizon or cavtel. I have used both and believe cavtel gives good service for a good price.

Why is BT so bad, I can't even contact them as a new customer?

Because they still have an effective monopoly. There is very limited choice if you can't get cable. BT is an ex nationalized industry and still functions with a lot of the same inefficiencies....
