Who can I write in character reference in my resume? Who are they?

I am 17y/o and still studying, 2nd yr college. I am going to apply to Mcdonald fastfood as service crew. I am going to take only a part-time job. I ask them what are the requirements for service crew. They said, bring resume with character reference at least 3 persons with telephone no. Since I am a student and don't have a experience yet, who should I write in character reference? Can I write my teachers or principal of our school during my high school. Give me a tips who can I write and who cannot write in character reference. Who give the best answer will be given a reward.

A character reference for employment is usually asked of people who do not have a large amount of experience (if any). For other jobs, they may specifically ask for a Work Reference or a letter from your previous employer. So keeping that in mind, the purpose of a character reference is to give a potential employer the best possible picture of you in relation to work. It should outline your best qualities (ie. are you punctual? intelligent? dilligent? fast learner?). People who can help you out are definately your teachers, not necessarily your principal, rather, ask one that you get along with well. Also, long standing family friends, people you have volunteered your time with, people with a high standing in your community (ie. police and other public servants). As long as the person knows you well enough to give your potential employer a good vibe about you.
A note though, it's probably not a great idea to put Mum or Dad, other close family members or your best friends down in most circumstances, unless they fit one of the previous examples. In general, our family and good friends think we're great at everything so they can be rather biased.
Do the best you can with references, it's not the end of the world if you can't get several. And always trust who you ask...no reference is better than a bad reference.

the want to ask people who know you what kind of person you are. they just want to be sure you're reliable and not a psycho ;-)

Yes... your principle, your pastor, your counselor, your coach... anyone not related to you who knows you well enough to vouch for your character.

A "character reference" is someone, of some stature and position usually, who knows you. Pick someone who thinks highly of you.

If it's your first job, you have no reference as we used tu write in a resume.

But you're right, you can put some of you teachers name.
Ask your teachers if they are ok about that before you do it.
