Who invented words?? where did they come from originally ?? And why are they called what there called ??

Who invented words ??
Where did they come from..
For example :
why is a pickle called a pickle ??
why is a vacume cleaner named that it dosent clean the vacume ??
Television vs. Telephone why are they called that and why do they both have TELE in them when you watch one and you talk on one ???
Why do they call a noodle a noodle ??
Air freshner, why not Air smeller ?? It dosent freshen air ...
How about animals ..
why is a cow a cow and not named a horse
and a dog not a cat..
Yeah this may seem like a crazy question but it popped in my head and i wanted to ask..
Anyone have the answer ????

it's not crazy, i have often wondered. i think it was the people who had the most money that got to decide. least that is how everything else seems to go.

I've always wondered that. I suppose people just started randomly making up sounds for things and after a while they had a language. ugg ooga og.

Most words evolved out of latin. So like electricity comes from the same latin word as amber (random fact) because the guy who discovered and named electricity discovered it with experiments using amber. That is the techincal answer- but I think you were looking for the philosphical answer which is er, philosophical people have their own opinions. (my opinion is we had such a need to communicate we started pointing and got tired of pointing so we invented "food" and taught it to our brother)
