Is an 8 ports switch 10/100 enough for 7 comput to work fast? |
don't remember exactly how fast my internet connection is but it's with the telephone line and nobody complain about it. My qwestion is because this switch looks a bit small, Thanks for the answers. The bottleneck will be with the internet connection and not the switch (make sure its a switch and not a hub. There is a huge difference) If it is a switch you should be fine. Lots can be packed into a small device these days ;) TX Depends on the traffic. Switches have Backplains and typically the backplain on a smaller switch is pretty small like maybe 256Mbps. which will actually cause a bottleneck inside the switch. check with the manufacturer to find out the backplane. If its 1 gbps or more your fine. good luck |
