Back to my laptop (again ) sorry?

I asked question about laptop but getting wrong answers back (sorry my fault ) To make it easy could someone maybe just explain, that if I just had a laptop and this little box with 3 holes which say, line, phone and modem what I have to do.
I also have some thing called a wireless LAN USB Adapter which I was told would mean I could use laptop without the telephone wire, well I hate to say it but I cant do that either even with an instalation disc. Sorry to be a pain but not as young as I use to be.

ok i dont know what are you aiming to,
but to connect to a wireless network using your laptop :
fist be sure that the wireless is turned on, you'll find a button to do so , and you'll see a light to indicate that its turned on,
now on your task bar, you'll find a small icon showing two monitors, this is to tell you wheather you are connected or not, for now you'll notice a red cross telling that no connectivity, now right click this icon and click on connect to network the wireless dialog will appear with a button to scan for an available wireless network, if one is found click on it then click on connect to,and there you go

You need either a Modem to connect to the phoneline and plug into your laptop (plus an ISP). The Phone hole in your box is to connect a phone so when you are not online you can still use the phone to talk. Or you need a Wireless Router (also connected to an ISP) and plugged into the LAN USB Adapter.

1 do you have broadband
2 who provides your internet(who do you pay for your internet)
3 what laptop do you use(this way we can take a look on google what connections you have on your laptop)make and model.
4 take your time, you have a lot to learn.
5 use my email if you have to i check it everyday.

what operating system is running on your laptop.vista.or xp pro-home.

well do u need 2 dial up. or have got modem if you got modem then if you carnt set it up get remote assistance from a paki

could you please elaborate on this "little box?" if you do, then i may be able to answer the question.

To use the wireless function on your laptop you will need a wireless router.
connect the router to your telepnoe sockect
then get your laptop to search for it.
you can also use a lan cable directly connected from router to laptop...
D-Link routers are not bad..I use one..does my job
