Tell me why?

Tell me why you all think our president Bush would be collecting our personal telephone calls for himself, why would he do this if he did not have a reason? and , if he did not have a reason, then why would he do it at all???
Three question, three answers per person.

1. He is not collecting them--the intelligence agencies are indexing them. He doesn't care about your phone calls.
2. They are doing this to look for patterns of people who are trying to communicate with known terrorists (like the FBI is doing by catching pedophiles in chat rooms)
3. They are doing it for your protection.

Hey fungusbrain - you are as naive as many other americans. Gov't abuses power - guaranteed. The most fundamental principle of our country and constitution is the limitation and separation of the powers of government. Bush is violating the constitution and his oath to protect it.
Criminal politicians have historically used fear as a way to convince people to give them more power. And when they get enough, you can't get it back. Wake up!

Calls are like the Internet you cant do anything without some trace of it somewhere. And at least hes honest about it. No one else has ever been. And as far as listening in on phone calls.If someone makes a call from say Iran to someone else here in the states. One of our people better be listening to it.

The conservatives want to control the minds of the masses. They don't value privacy and liberty. 1. He wants to track who people are communicating with. 2. He does have a reason. He wants to get rid of all dissenters. Your last two questions are the same.
