a. Do you think there would have been an American Revolution if George Washington had been able to call King George and communicate with him directly by telephone? Why or why not? How might the situation have been different?
b. Would Paul Revere have had to take his midnight ride on the 18th of April in 1775 if the telephone had been invented then? Why or why not?

c. How might the Civil War have been affected if there had been telephones then?

d. What other important events in early American history might have turned out differently if telephones had been invented earlier?

These are just personal opinion, I suppose.

1. Yes, even with better communication, I don't think they would have much that much more progress with peace talks. Take a look at the Middle East these days. The difference of opinion was just too high and eventually things would have boiled over anyway.

2. Assuming both sides had telephones, probably not. He could have just called everyone to wake them up.

3. The Civil War probably wouldn't have changed that much with telephones. They might have been able to coordinate different armies a bit better, and spies would have been slightly more effective if they had figured out a way to receive calls in the field.

4. Nothing major, I don't think. We might have gotten built up a bit faster into the IR.

a. yes, because King George didn't listen the requests of the colonists anyway.

b. probably not. he would have started a phone tree

c. it probably would have ended sooner, since orders would have arrived at the battlefront more quickly

d. the battle of New Orlenes during the War of 1812 took place in early 1815 only because no one in that area knew the war had ended late in 1814. if the telephone had been invented, the battle never would have taken place.

a. Possibly. King George was getting rich off of the American colonies, and no one wanted to upset that in the UK. If the Revolution, I'd probably be spelling "color" as "colour."
b. No. If there was telephone, he could have just called everyone, and there would be no need for a horse ride through patches of Redcoats. This presumes that listening devices have not been invented yet.
c. I have no idea. You question is far too broad.
