Is dismantling bureaucracy even possible?

i'm sure nobody thinks legislation is able to move fast enough to handle our fast paced world's real problems. but must we be slaves to our own creation? we're using an ,obviously, antiquated system for making changes. what if instead of using representitives, which actually had a purpose when nobody had telephones or for that matter, barley any kind of mail service, we the people could make the decisions democratically and istantly and contenuously, using the very think that is in front of you right now, computers. this would eliminate the problems of decisionmaking. of course, at least there would need to be some regulations about qualifieing to vote and the means for anybody having access to whatever they need to qualify. is this science fiction? we are doing it right now on yahoo answers, and none of us needs representation.

maybe an evolution of bureaucracy.
Here is a concept that I am learning at Ohio University. We are using it for Management Information System during the system analysis stages.
question: why should I have to get my supervisors permission every time that I have the same problem over and over again.
There should be set instructions in a policy manual on "how to solve problems like ..."

May not work... I forgot we change Upper management every 2 or 4 or 6 years. Maybe they should be just figure heads that are not in charge of the government. hmm??

Yes, but you have to vote out incumbents.Even if you think you like them.

the problem with that is that without the bureaucracy the government would quickly become little more than a dictatorship or a socialist state.

But you see, the problem with that, is that the government doesn't have your best interest at heart. The *@~$ sons o' #$%&!*#$ that are running this &^#*-hole only care about getting money and power. In our current stature, we couldn't get that passed without going through the legislative process. And every Republican, Democrat, or in between, would not go for that. The only way we could get passed that is if EVERYONE in America wanted it, and there are severy suck-ups (like my grandfather) who would not go for it. But good idea, though.
