Caller ID Telephones... What does this mean???

i know this might sound like a ridiculous question but i have to know...
when a phone says CALLER DISPLAY does this mean that the number of the person calling's number will show up so you now who's calling before you answer............?
or does it mean that the number you are calling will display on the screen???

You'll know who's calling. . . no more answering calls to sales people :) I'm not sure but up til a few years ago some BT exchanges didn't support this feature, check before you buy one!

Yes it means the caller's telephone number will show up before you pick up the phone. Some long distance or cell phone numbers will not be know so it will tell you that.

It means that the phone has caller ID capability. You have to subscribe to caller ID with your phone company before anything will actually show up on the screen on the phone.

when someone's calling you it will show up and when you call someone it will show up also........

You may have to pay for it but it mean you can see the number calling you then you decide if you want to take it or not.

Caller display means that when the phone rings it comes up with the number of the person who is calling you. This will only work if you subscribe to it, like with BT you have to pay for caller display but it's damn handy.
