I have four, one in every room in the house and in the kitchen.

Four cell phones, and several standard phones that are not in service now.

i have that cordless phone with the extra hand set...... so i guess it is 2 phones.......... we have more jacks but i dont need a million phones

We have 2 -- both portable. We keep one downstairs in the kitchen and one in our bedroom. We both have cell phones as well. We have one that has a cord that we can plug into the wall if there is a power outage, but we don't use it normally.
