Can you recommend a telephone/answer machine,?

Answer machine broken, whats a good one ,digital with two roaming handsets, I am in England so it must be one I can easily purchase here.

If you are with BT then I would take up the free 1571 service, then I would look for a cordless handset.

If you must have the machine attached then I would look at Argos, they look to have many to choose from, but make sure its one of the DECT ones they work better than to older ones, even if the cost a little more.

BT 5450 dect. Been using for years. really meant for business use but cost really came down a couple of years ago. cordless(dect), 5450 is the answermachine, 5400 handsets. good range, easy to expand, loads of usefull features.
