Help with a job, can you help?

I want my resume to sound professional as possible. I'm applying for a secretary position, I use to be a secretary (but a lot of people applying before me have more experience. Could someone please help me edit this (my work history as a secretary) so it sounds good, or give me any tips! Thanks:

(Here is my description of my old secretary job at a disability center):
Handling and organizing all office files. Working with special needs students. Answering telephone calls, directing calls to the appropriate person or department, screening calls, and maintaining and returning voice mails. Sorting mail, sending out mail, and giving mail to the appropriate person in the department. Preparing tests for students and helping students with registering and other needs. Keeping office areas clean and organized. Sending and and returning fax papers. Doing anything to help the department to run smoothly and effectively. Also I worked the switchboard

i am not going to write your resume for you, there are plenty of websites that give free examples. Try Yahoo! Jobs. Remember to list your name, address, phone number, e-mail and any other way you can be reached. Use plain white paper, or if you must have a design, just a simple black or other subdued stripe.
