Could you tell me how American look for the suppliers?

I am an export manager .
My factory produce the resin buttons,buckles and other gament accessories in China.
So i want to know what ways the American Importer find the supplirs?
I get the customer's telephone no,how can i get his factory name and e-mail address by internet?
