I want te secretary job so bad!!!?

Is it possible to be employed as a secretary whose job responsibilities come to typing, filing, paper work, and answering telephone calls right after graduation from high school or no? When I am talking about ANY secretarial work....I MEAN ANY! whether its medical, a small time business, a corporation, law offices, government, county, or any other places. If not....what can I do if I currently seek that kind of profession or part time job? I have prior military service but what I did in the military has nothing to do with secretarial work. I am good at typing, organization, filing etc. Any answers will help....I really don't care bout how much is being paid neither...I just want to do the job

i'm sorry but you can't....you can't even type properly ...:(

To get experience, try going to your local temporary service. They often have office jobs at the entry level (except Michigan where everyone is under employed right now).

The correct job title would be clerk, not secretary. Secretaries have years of experience.

shake your money maker. I guarantee you麓ll recieve whatever your looking forward to become. Shake shake it mama, shake shake it !

I suggest registering with a temp agency to get some experience. Most of them test you and place you in temp. job situations that suits you.

You should apply for a receptionist position which doesn't require those skills and once you get that type of job learn how to use Microsoft word, etc. and when a position opens in your company you can apply for it. If you have no prior experience as a secretary you will have a hard time getting a job if you do not have any qualifications.

Yes. You are looking for a specific job description of, "Secretary," or, "Administrative Assistant I."

Actually, typing, filing, organization, and phone work are in large measure what secretaries do, even today. So, your military experience could be a big plus on a resume or application. But you have to be ready to back it up with good performance from the start. There are far too many people with the skills today for any boss to put up with innocent incompetence, to include basic spelling and grammar.

Now, as to what you can do: Spend some of your veterans' benefits on getting an Associates' Degree at your community college. You do not have to complete the degree, but take basic courses in Microsoft Office, English, Business Correspondence, Business Math, and related skills. Or pay to audit the courses / take community development classes through your community college. That way you get the proof of being qualified in the tools and skills of the trade, without which, you may be hurting.

Good luck!
