I've learned that i've won the money from the emails from UK. what i've given them my personal details?

As the title above, i've received some email regarding that i'm the winner of what what what and my email has won what what what, i've ady given some information and replied to them, and they are about to send me the parcels. but i didn't reply them anymore since it's been a bit unsecure.

what did i send to them, i sent my full name, res. address, telephone no, and even a photo. but they didn't ask for the passport or IC no.

I realise my picture would be use by other and also my add and telephone number. i'm so worry for this.

Can somebody help me to answer this, what would happen if i've given some of my details to an email?

That's definitely a scam.

If you get an email that tells you you鈥檙e the winner of a Lottery or other contest 鈥?and it asks you to email personal information to claim a cash prize or reward 鈥?click Spam to dispose of it. You can also forward the suspicious email to mail-spoof@cc.yahoo-inc.com.

"Phishing" is a play on the word "fishing" 鈥?because perpetrators are "fishing" for your private information or trying to find ways to trick you into sending them money.

Don鈥檛 be fooled! These deceptive emails are used to commit identity theft, charge your credit cards, empty your bank accounts, read your email, and lock you out of your online account by changing your password.

The above person just explained it in a nutshell. But I will include additional details.

Scammers don't count on people knowing that it is illegal to hold a lottery overseas. For example, you would have to be in the UK to participate in their lottery. You cannot buy their tickets overseas.

These letters also give themselves away with their poor command of the English language and a story that is very lengthy and sounds too good to be true.

They will probably also send you mail asking for some kind of fee to process your winnings, followed by fees that don't end. Don't give them ANY money, whatever you do.

In the meantime, calm down and collect yourself.

YOU HAVE BEEN BURNED! If you have given ypur personal info you need to close your accounts ASAP THEY ARE GOING TO DRAIN YOUR ACCOUNTS. and spread the word to who ever ask this same question about these online lotterys IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN IT IS!
