I was in an accident earlier..HELP PLEASE?

Earlier today I got into a horrible accident due to incliment weather. I did not hit anyone, nor did I get a ticket, but I am scared to be in a car or even drive one anymore. I was driving to my doctor.. talk about irony... so I look at my spedometer and it says 30 so I'm like ok I'm going to slow down because of the road and just as I did...I slid... almost hit two cars... missed them...hit a mailbox/guard rail...went to the other side swiped another guard rail...went back over.. hit a fence then back over.. hit a telephone pole.. flew over the guard rail..went down the hill which was a 150 foot drop.. missed a bunch of trees, went through the creek, up and hit a tree on the passengers side. I was lucky the car didn't flip and I was able to walk away with just a sprained neck and a lump on my leg.

Anyone who has been in an accdent before can you please tell me how you got over the fear?

Serious answers please.

Yes I went all over the place and I remember less than what happened. The witness said I spun 3 times before I took a jump over the guard rail.

aww that sucks. you will get over it with time. Start by driving with someone else as the passenger and then go ahead and drive on your own street after all this crpatastic weather goes away. Little by little you'll get better and feel better. You accident sucked, but wasn't traumatic enought ot scar you forever, I promise. Little by little is your answer.

Whoa, you went all over the place for just going 30!

I've had car accidents, but can't relate. I wasn't afraid to get back to driving . . . BUT!

I got a job at a ski resort one time. I had NEVER skiid before!

A guy I worked with told me he'd teach me how to ski. Yeah, right. We got suited up with free equipment from the rental shop (employees!) and he convinced me I should skip the bunny run and the beginner slopes and go right to an intermediate skill level run.

Ok, I fell getting on the lift, I fell getting off the lift. He helped me up, asked if I was ok. I said "yes, I'm ok".

Then he said "Well, have a great day skiing". And that son of a _____ took off.

I must have fallen down a hundred times going down that slope.

I knew that if I didn't go back up the same lift to the same slope I would fear it. So I did.

I did a little better, but got going so fast I knew I'd kill myself if I didn't do something to stop. So I just plopped down near the end of the run.

I ended up a pretty good skier by the end of the season. I Love skiing powder. Lost my ski pass almost every day for going onto slopes that were closed. I didn't care, I got 'em free.

I've had some interesting life experiences. I had a head-on collision with a diesel rig hauling six tons of gravel. I was driving a VW Karmann Ghia. The CHP asked ME if the guy driving the VW died (he thought the paramedics had come and left). I had a scratch on my forehead. He couldn't believe I was the driver.

I found a guy's head once. The coyotes had stripped it clean, but they couldn't reach some of the brains way inside it. Turned out the guy was murdered. I had to testify at the murderer's trial.

Have you ever seen a hydro-electric dam? Ever seen that water shooting out the generators? As kids, we used to get on inner-tubes and paddle out into the water underneath them. When that jet stream of water catches you it shoots you out muy fasto. What a rush. Better than ANYTHING at any amusement park.

I can't tell you about the most radical experience I've ever had. If I hadn't been there, I wouldn't believe it. No sense telling a tale so tall it's unbelievable.
.

I'd find a way to keep that Doctor's Appointment....

WHOA!!!!

well i got into an accident wasnt as bad as you though.. it was in the morning i was headed to my morning class..but anyways so i was scared at first like the first days but then i got over it.. but i am now kind of scared to drive at night.

NOW my fiance sister in law once she was in the freeway and she was going to switch to another lane but the car slid and almost hit some cars..SHE hasnt drovesince that day and if she does drive its like places that are close...so you might get over it or you might not..

Its like riding a bicycle and falling off, you just have get back in and start driving, everything will go back to normal.

i was never been in a accident like that before, but i been in accidents before, but like the saying goes, if the horse throws you, get back in the saddle, so you wont lose your nerve. what happened was you were scared, but if you dont get back in, you wont be driving at all. that was a freak accident, it might not happen again. did you hit the brakes, when you started to slide?, if so then you dont want to do that. i didnt let it worry me, i just got back in my car and drove.
