Good laptop 4 gaming? |
is this somewhat good 4 gaming. I don't know why you would want to play games on your laptop, but when you're looking for a gaming laptop you primarily want to focus on it's video card and less(er) on other specifics (usually a good video card is collaborated with other high-end laptop specification in order to run that video card). From how I see, your video card seems kind of old (not necessary lower end though). You didn't specify how much memory it has on it and it's also shared, so hopefully it's at least 265mb. The resolution seems a bit flimsy for a gaming computer, but that's all due to your video card. But nonetheless, the company that makes it is top of the line. I would try focusing on a laptop that sells nvidia 8400m 256mb at least; 8800 gtx are top of the line but quite expensive. Ultimately, it really depends what kind of games you want to play. If you're playing games like crysis, then you'll probably need a really high end graphics card to run the game at a decent fps rate, lower end graphics cards just won't cut it. But if your more into older games, like the blizzard franchise, then your video card should cut it. It meets minimum requirements for some games, but the video card is not going to run new games that come out next year. Try finding something with a better graphics setup that will last at least 5 years. Like 256 or 512 video card memory. My new acer laptop has the same processor as yours, with 4Gb ram, 250Gb Hdd. But my GF8400G graphics card chokes when running the latest games. Have to lower resolution way down to run smoothly. So I dont think it will be a good gaming laptop unless you get better graphics cards... its decent... will play all games out now... but a couple of the new tops will have to be lowered graphically significantly... like age of conan or crysis... plus laptops tend to be less gaming powerful than their desktop counterpart... so it will play most games out there smoothly but wont be a gaming powerhouse... Not really. You want a graphics card with independent, Not shared RAM ONly way to really find out is to play a game on that laptop. check out Best Buy's web site it has a program that helps u pick a laptop to meet all ur needs...i'm searching for a laptop for college, good luck finding urs : ) Yes! I was gonna say before reading that the AMD is more for Gaming That Intell. The Turion is suppose to be the best. and honestly the old AMD Athlon x64 is good also so yes you have an excellent setup for gaming. Plenty of room, My newest PC has similar specs, except I have the AMD Athlon x64 dual core versus AMD Turion x 64 dual core. Game away and have fun...I however do not use mine for gaming but needed the equivalent to a Pentium Processor as I have used Celerons and they all sorts of strange things when you push them hard. I upload tons of Video and Software with big loads so I need power and a fast connection speed for large uploads or they will drop off for sure. |
