My dad is having an affair but he is 50years old?

my dad is having affair and all v children got to know leaving my mother.We dont want to share with my mother but we respected our father lot we are unable to ask him about this we are feeling shy.i am 21 my 2elder bros are 23,25 elder one will be getting married soon but my mother in law if gets to know abt this matter she wont make happen this marriage.I am scared if i ask him he may attempt suicide but i am not able to tolerate this everyday.Everyday he meets her he calls her a lot she calls to her office and evenings he will visit him everyday if my mother gets to know she will die.my elder brother is telling v will attempt suicide at a time.i am not albe to to ask him r sleep totally disturbed.i am having exams and am not at all studying.he loves me lot but i dont know how to ask him r my brothers may ask r no.they are only telling v cant do anything but this is torturing a lot to me everyday she calling to my fathers mobile.i am thinking to attempt suicide in fromt of him.

Suicide is just not the right answer. Why make yourself miserable and commit the biggest mistake of your life by taking your own. I say destroy the illicit affair of your father and his mistress.

I hate mistresses, they know the guy is married and they still f* them and destroy your family.

i think u should take things positively. commiting suicide is not the answer to any question,u have to be strong enough to handle this problem. try to solve it by discussing with both of them,if she is a women she will surely understand that a family is about to shatter because of her.all u brothers should take up the responsibility and its better to inform ur uncles so that they can help u guys out

I would tell your father you know about the affair and if it does not stop you will tell all the family..including aunties uncles cousins his friends ect...THEN I would call her and tell her if she does not stop you will tell her family as well to

Tell him that you are aware of his actions and that you would like him to think about what he is doing to you, your brother, and your mother. Then just drop the subject. You must not try to harm yourself for his actions.

Why are you considering giving up your life for your father's poor decisions? Just tell him, flat out, I know what you are up to. Tell Mom, because she has a right to know. If you don't, I will.".... leave it at that.

well, first of all people are never too old to fall in love.

secondly, you guys are pretty much old enough. u should be at least able to help urselves, ur mother and ur siblings. just try to keep the others alive.

thirdly, never ever be afraid of talking to someone and tell him that he did something terribly wrong. let him know what he did is totally below the belt and try to tell him it's not about just his life anymore. u'r a family. u'r supposed to be always considering each other.

Your father's affair is his business. His affair has nothing to do with you. You have to realize that. He's not getting whatever he needs from your mother-whatever that is. Your father loves you and you know that. You can choose to confront him about his affair but he will not stop seeing another woman just because you are hurting knowing he's cheating on your mother. Your siblings and yourself are all grown up. You don't need your father. He would be tearing your family apart if you were all little children and more emotional damage would have happened to all of you. Luckily, you and your siblings are grown up and do not have to deal with your parents going through conseling, a nasty divorce and custody battle. I am sorry that you are hurting. I hope this helps.

Discuss it, he is wrong not you, sadly it is very common, and they are unaware of the devestation it can bring. He won't suicide, if he did he is a wimp, and not your fault if he did, there are many worse things in life than this and ppl don't suicide. Suicide for you?? then you would miss all the beauty this world has to offer, this will pass. Hard for you I know, shouldn't be happening, but it is, let him know how hurt you are, don't threaten him with suicide, he needs to make a decision, his fling or his family. Hope it all works out, it is a great world we live in, but there are a few bumps along the way.

Find out first if the relation is serious or a casual fling. If it is a fling, it will pass but do not let your mother know about it ever.
If is a serious one, I think as you children are grown up, the three of you should confront the woman together without telling your father, and try to convince her to call off the affair. If she has any sense she would. If she does not agree, speak to your father. Try not to threaten him and convince him how important he is for the family. If you hurt him or make his feel unwanted he may desert the family altogether, as she is there for him.
