People who own a Dell Inspirons?

o.k so i've heard that dell's suck, but this is the computer that i want to get.
So here are the details:
-1.83GHz/667Mhz FSB/2MB cache
-Vista Home Premium
-3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz
-320GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
-Internal Bluetooth
-Microsoft Office (Student)

and those are probably the most important features.

so if you know anything about memory and stuff, let me know if this would be a good computer for a person who is going off to college. i'll be majoring somewhere in the natural sciences, i listen to a lot of music, take many pictures, but am not into very much gaming.
oh yea, i forgot to mention that the price is $937.

The only thing you might want to consider upgrading would be the processor, but the one you selected should be fine. I am also not sure which model Inspiron this is or what graphics card it will be using.

Other than that for what you are using the computer for this should be a good fit. The system you configured has a large hard drive to hold a lot of music and photos. The system should also work great with 3GB of memory for Vista and Microsoft Office.

Yes, Dells do suck big time, but if you insist on torturing yourself, your next issue is Vista. Vista really needs high power and speed to run properly. The configuration you list is good for XP, but Vista is several times larger than XP and that mahine will be slower than the same machine with XP on it. If I were getting a PC with Vista, I would get something like a dual core 2.6GHZ cpu and 800mhz ram along with an optional 'good' video card.
