I work at a software dev company that is making software that needs a code signing certificate. I need help?

Do I buy one certificate that is shared throughout the office, like one for just the company?

The private key is required to sign the files. The public key is used to verify the signature. If you buy a certificate and let the whole office use it, then you greatly reduce the security of the key. A possible solution could be that all final software goes through one guy that maintains the key.

So one key for the whole office, but only one or 2 people should be able to use it to prevent leaks. It's really a question that you should discuss within your office.

That depends on how you manage the certificate, or if you buy it through a provider and the terms of use for the certificate. Verisign is a well-known provider.

Encryption certificate? you can just generate encryption certificates.
