How can share excel files on a network? I need a walkthrough or very descriptive website that dose not charge.

Please help me people. I need to know how to make sure that my office can share and see the saved changes that have been made In excell documents and when more than one user
is making changes at the same time. Its Imperitive that I learn.

You can share Excel documents the same way you share any others - on a shared server. Ask your office network administrator to set it up.

Only one copy of an excel file can be opened for updating at one time. If the file you are opening is already open for update you will be given the option to open the file Read Only or to not open it.

If you open it read only, you can save it to another location and/or name and the be able to update it. But the only way to merge different changes applied to two separate files is by manual inspection and updating.

So everybody can always look at the file but only one person at a time can update it.
