Please list necessary items needed for a girl to take to College:?

esp since she is used to sharing stuff @ home like
office supplies (printer paper) as well as personal items
like make-up. i know she will need some cute bedding
& maybe some stuff to decorate her dorm room, but
how will she know what clothes to take, etc?

Start making a list. School supplies - of course.
A backpack or other bag for carrying books (maybe one with wheels if you're carrying a heavy load).

I'm the kind of person who takes essentials only... jeans, t-shirts, sweater, jacket... you know. But colleges differ in how casual they are.

Some students get mini-refrigerators or hotplates for heating things in their room.

Worry about getting through the courses more than how you look or having all the niceties of home. (you'll afford a lot more "stuff" once you're through)

it depends on what part of the U.S. she will be attending college. Up north, lots of sweaters, a parka, woollen clothes, not cotten. If down south, heavy on kahki's, sandels, lotion, tank tops.
If she is in to fashion, contact one of the sororities to find out what is "hip" and "urgent."

A few things to add:

A flashlight
An umbrella
a pair of sneakers
sunscreen or bug spray (depending on where the school is)
a little sewing kit
