What are the good sources to find about accomodation (apartment/studio/sharing) in Dubai?

Hi,
I am moving to Dubai soon. For an initial 20 days, hotel accomodation is being provided by the employers. But within that peiod i need to finalize an accomodation. My would be office is located near World Trade Center. So please help me answer these
1)Which are the good sources to find accomodation? I am open to all options- sharing/studio/apartment (if affordable :-)...How much are they going to cost me?
2) Would i be able to get something good and not very expensive on pocket too with some distance from office (Say 40 mins of travel or lesser)
3) How do the lease/rental agreements work in Dubai. How are the payments negotiated and is there some scope for this?
4) Are there anything specifics i need to be aware of/wary of -while signing lease agreements
5)How is the public transport system in Dubai? Is surviving without own car possible?

most of the websites classify the rents by areas, so i would advice u to look at dubai maps and try to memorize it even before u came here

Try www.expatriates.com. I've found them very useful at finding accomodation in Dubai be it house/villa/apartment/house share/room/sublets etc. Be aware that most agents charge a fee for letting.
