I want my new baby to have a nursery?

I am 24 years old and have been married for one year. Husaband has 2 small kids from a previous marriage. He feels that our child should not have a nursery of it's own and share it with his other kids. But we have his children every other weekend. My husband feels that I am excluding his children and spoiling our child even though it has not made it into the world just yet. Should I tell him to shove it and do a nursery, or let his kids share a room with the baby even though I feel it needs a room because it is in our house 24/7???? we do have a 3 bedroom house. (one room is used as an office, the other is our bed room, and the big bedroom it empty)

Oh my god.
Tell hiim to screw.
Make your room the big room, the nursery your room and the office can have 2 trundles or somthing. A baby needs its own room. they are only there so often and thats not fair at all. it will be to much to be going in and out of the babys room at night and during naps with 2 other kids sleeping or playing or whatever. what if the babys napping and his kids want to play in there?

so he wants HIS kids to have a room on reserve for them whenever they feel like visiting while your bbay and all the babys accessorys, which take up ALOT of space get crammed into a corner.

Please dont let him win this one

Practically speaking, it seems to make sense to give the baby her own room.

Obviously, your baby will be in your house full-time. That means all of her gear will be in your house full-time, and a small baby collects a mountain of stuff.

It's also true that keeping the baby separate gives your stepkids some big kid space that doesn't have to be baby-proofed.

And, most importantly, since it will probably be *months* before your new arrival reliably sleeps through the night, you'll be able to give your stepkids a good night's rest when they do spend the night. It would be awkward for you to have to come into the kids' room at night and try to feed/soothe your kiddo while the others sleep. Or worse, to feel like you had to take the baby downstairs so as to not disturb them.

I assume that the kids have their own space at their mom's house. By your husband's logic, your child wouldn't have any space that was completely her own ... and that's not quite right, either.

I am a bit worried about why your husband thinks you are spoiling your own kid. It seems like no one has a room now. Are the stepkids sleeping on the couch when they visit?
You should put the nursery in YOUR room and make the big bedroom for all the kids eventually. A baby needs to be near you for a bit in the beginning. After it is older you can have it share a room with its half siblings.
