Positive for trisomy 18, any similar experience?

So I had a meeting with my OB today because I got a positive on my quad screen for Trisomy 18. My odds are 1/7. I am waiting to hear back from my OB's office to find out when I will see a perinatologist for level II ultrasound and genetic counseling. I'm just wanting to hear from other mothers who have had this happen to them and what the outcome has been. Do you have any advice for how to keep thinking positive and keep your mind off of it til seeing the peri? I'm just praying for good results. Please share your stories. I need as much encouragement as I can get. But even if your out come was bad I need to hear it, I want to be prepared. Thank you in advance.

There's always a chance your baby doesn't have it though! Just pray for the best! Even if he/she does have it, there is ALWAYS a chance he can make it!

Surround yourself with people who are strong and encouraging. Try to meet people in your area who have been through the same thing.

There is still hope, so don't give up. Just pray, pray, pray! I'm praying for you, too!

Just remember that numbers are only numbers! The ultrasound will make this clearer, but even then remember that these 1/7 odds are just odds and you can possibly beat it! There are extensive tests you can get these days, and just know that there is still much to be determined! Best of luck!
