Difficult Colleague Winding Me Up - Help!?

I share an office with a woman. Wwe had a major issue last year re. her overuse of pungent perfume that caused me sinus problems etc. It took me ages to get boss to take my complaint seriously. My dad died suddenly then & while I was on hols in summer, colleague filed a grievance procedure against me for harrassment, said she felt "under scrutiny"because I objected to her perfume. She didn't press ahead, as there was no basis for her false claim. We now barely speak except workrelated. Lately though, she is interrupting my chats with other colleagues, joining in even if I'm just bantering ie not work related. It's doing my head in, and I know she's doing it to wind me up. I don't react, am cool as cucumber but boiling inside. Should I continue to ignore her or confront her about her rudeness? She is listening to every word I utter to others, then joining in. I feel studied, monitored, watched. I really hate this person due to all the hassle she caused me & wish she'd just ignore me!

I'd say to her to stop interfering in your personal chats with colleagues. It's none of her business and no right to interject as no one is talking to her.

You don't say how your colleagues feel about her sticking her nose in? Are they equally annoyed?

If she continues..ask her to stop interfering in front of your colleague.....and tell her that you'll raise a complaint with your boss...as her behaviour, to deliberately wind up a colleague could be classed as mis conduct.

bosses want a happy work environment and it appears she's hell bent on making it a disruptive environment.

Good luck.

She fancies you.

you sound like a real pain in the ...

Think back to when you first met her. Was it really her perfume that made you complain about her? How did you complain? Did you talk it through with her first? Were you reasonable about how you handled the situation?
What were you first impressions of her? Did you initially like her until her perfume caused you problems?
Perhaps if you reflect on these questions you may admit that perhaps you were a bit harsh on her. If so, try to be noble and overcome any negative feelings. It's difficult, but if you can put the past behind you, and when she joins in conversations, involve her. You may even get to like her. She sounds lonely, and she must be upset that her grievance against you was rejected. Maybe initial misunderstandings have led to this situation. Try to get to know her a bit better, and then, if you are more friendly you can explain in a reasonable manner how her perfume actually brings on illness for you. It's worth a
try anyway. Good luck.

you should be honest with her and sit down and talk about how revolting she smells!

I'm interested to read about your situation, because the woman who sits directly opposite me sprays perfume around the office to hide the fact that she's been out smoking (smoke breaks are banned in our office). It really irritates me because I have several allergies including hayfever and I have a very sensitive sense of smell, so I will literally sit there sneezing for an hour after she's done it. I am at a loss as to what to do because I know that my boss wouldn't take me seriously if I complained, and also this woman's boyfriend died about a year ago and ever since then, everyone just pussyfoots around her and she can get away with anything - if it was someone else doing it, then it's likely that my complaint would be taken seriously.

To be honest, I think that you're going the right way regarding her rudeness - just continue to ignore her. She's clearly not bothered about reporting you to higher authorities, so don't give her anything to go on that might get you into more trouble. If she is listening to every word that you say, then you might need to reconsider what personal conversations you're having in the office.
