Does anyone else work for a small company and not feel job security?

I love my job. It's a 5-man operation including the owner. I run the office. However, the business isn't doing so well financially so there is no "job security" for me. I don't know if this company will make it or not. If it does, I want to be here. But I've also been thinking about looking for another job for the simple reason I don't know from month to month if I'll be employeed. Anyone else in this predicament? Please share your stories.

I'm very pleased with my pay where I'm at so perhaps I should just hang on, save my money, and hope we stay afloat. It's just a scary scary thing.

In this day and age there is no job security anymore. Any company could go belly up at any time. Always have a back up plan!!!!

Right now, in these times, even large companies and government workers don't have "job security".

I'm in a very similar situation. Six months ago I went out and got a second job. Part-time Saturdays and Tuesday nights. It's going so well, they have offered me a full-time position. Now I feel secure. It's nice to have options.
