Is this a good example of political abuse of power and creating elitism in our country?

I was a great fan of Elliot Spitzer and hoped he would one day be our president. I admire his wife for standing by him, because he is the man she loved, but I do not believe the rest of us should be forced to share her support. I feel this is an excellent example of elitism in America- somehow he felt his power placed him above the law while be forcefully condemned everyone one else who broke the law.
Clinton pardoned almost a hundred cocaine dealers and traffickers his last night in office in exchanged for his brother-in-law accepting bribes and now Spitzer was shutting down prostitution rings that were in competition to the one he was a patron to- monopolizing the market for that prostitution ring. These are our leaders, being paid with by our taxes and who are creating elitism using our taxes. Why bother with police and prosecutors if the criminals go free by offering our leaders benefits?

Although power TENDS to corrupt, and some folks can resist the siren's song, others fall right into it.

They forget that they serve at OUR behest, not theirs and they are not aboce the law, beyond the law or outside the law.

Human beings in power most always succumb to temptation due to the power they have. Corruptions and scandals have existed for centuries. The only difference is, now we have technology that will work against them more than ever before. Just face it, from the smallest corporation to the highest office of politics... most humans will choose to take advantage of the perks that the power of being in charge provides.

i personally dont care if he saw prostitiutes. i dont think prostitution should be a high priority for prosecution either.

prostitution is pandemic across the US. legalizing it and regulating it (like in nevada) allows folks like spitzer to get their jollies while keeping the rights of the workers in mind.
