My computer is not conncting to the office router?

im having problems loggin on the net or opening the shared office files. i have just logged into the router and my computer is not showing as an attached device when i know it is???

check the NIC speed. set it 10 then check then set it to 100 then check and finally put it on auto....

Some equipment does not negotiate correctly...
