Would you FIRE Mary Peters (Transportation Secretary)?

I don't have to tell you that opening our border to unsafe Mexican Trucks is a bad idea. I don't have to convince Congress either. Both chambers voted overwhelmingly last year to pull the plug on Transportation Secretary Mary Peters dangerous plan to let unsafe Mexican trucks on our highways.
But Peters continues to ignore the law. She is spending taxpayer money, your money, without constitutional authority.

As bad as all that is, what isn't talked about is what she has done to the air traffic control system. There is no longer cross training, so the controllers learn only 1 aspect of a complicated system; she has cut the starting pay down to 35k. thereby no longer attracting the best talent; The towers and control centers are all understaffed and the experienced controllers are leaving in droves without being replaced. She has destroyed the entire transportation system of this country

Will this get to the root of the problem which is the CFR writing the plan for the NAU and Congress keeping their heads in the sand while Bush pushes it through?

Any Transportation Secretary that does not run the current Congress out of town on the rails is certainly contemptible...

I don't suppose the fact that Teamsters represents the trucking companies that would lose market share by allowing Mexican trucks to operate in U.S. territory is at all a conflict of interest?
