What do you do if you think your friend is a thief and you're the victim?

I'm a girl with a gay guy for a BFF. In june 2006, my and my husband used my BF's computer to do schoolwork and shop. In September, some fraud charges were placed on me and my husband's gold card for gay internet porn. We disputed and won cause the thief used a phony name. i thought of my friend because i found credit cards in fake names in his wallet when tried to find answers. Time passed, then in early summer of 07, my friend and some others helped us pack and move out our old office and bedroom junk for the trash. in august, i received a copy for a returned check from my old account for an order of beauty products, which my friend loves and my name was signed in handwriting like his. no one would help me cause the account was closed and there was no harm. now today i find someone tried it again on a membership i only share with him only it was done through an electronic system. i asked him and he said he never paid on the bill. what do i do? I hate not being able to trust him.

This happened to me once. (Not exactly the same, but I had to confront a friend that had been stealing from me) I finally had to tell my friend that she either needed to come clean or I had to cut her out of my life because I just couldn't trust her. She came clean and paid me back what she had taken from me. Even though she came clean I just couldn't bring myself to trust her and we are no longer friends. I know that she had a problem and a good friend would not have judged her for her mistakes but trust is a huge issue in any relationship. I don't know if this helps or not... Good luck!

Since you've found credit cards with fake names in his wallet, AND you've been the victim of fraud, I think you have to accept the fact that he's a thief. Dump him; he's not worthy of your friendship.

This is a hard one.

But even though he's your friend, I don't think he's trustworthy.

And if you don't trust him, what kind of friendship can you have? Don't let him near your computer, your money, or your account information. You'll probably find that he doesn't want to spend so much time with you when he can't access your MONEY!
