Colleague spits in dustbin in office, what to do?

i share office with a Chinese woman, she often spits in our dustbin, she makes an awful sound, makes me near vomit. What is the best way to stop here without making her feel bad?

As a Chinese, I can tell you that spitting and like the way you describe it is actually very common among the chinese people - I agree that its awful and rude, as do most Chinese.

What I would suggest is if you ask her nicely to please stop doing this noise as it disturbs her collegues. That usually will stop the majority of them.

TELL HER RIGHT IN THE FACE!!!!!!!!!! dont worry she wont feel bad, since she does not feel bad about being unhygenic in the office. gross.

POLITELY ASK HER TO STOP, AND EXPLAIN TO HER THAT IT BOTHERS U, IF THAT DON'T WORK TELL UR
SUPERVISOR.

Tell her. She doesnt realize that it is bad because of her culture. So YOU need to tell her, that it is unethical and unhygiene to spit in shared dustbin (or even personal one!). Urghhh....disgusting!

I don't know about chinese people,but here in america I have seen many white and black americans spitting in trash cans.It is the most surprising bad habit I have personally witnessed.

She might have allergies and can't help herself.

My only concern would be if the dustbin has a liner in it. I surely wouldn't want to have to be the maid who empties it if there is no liner.

Perhaps you could buy her a box of tissues so the wastebin would be somewhat more sanitary.

For the rest of you, I've thrown up in a trashcan, because there wasn't time to dash across the room and down the corridor to the rest room. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

Place Saran wrap over the top of it. Then place it on their desk with a note, " stop the spitting or go place baseball and throw in a grab to the crotch."!
