Neighbor with dogs very dirty and imposing with shared laundry facilities!? |
A neighbor in my apartment building has taken over the whole place. He uses the spare office like it's his personal storage containers. (He's too cheap to pay for a storage container.) He complains and whines like a crabby old lady about every little thing you could possibly think of and then some! We just try and avoid the guy most of the time. The BIG problem: He has full size dogs and washes their bedding in the machines loaded with gobs of hair. It is disgusting to think about what is on my cloths. I run the washers with hot water and bleach first (which I pay extra for) but the dryers are the real problem. They don't get very hot and I'm sure they don't kill all the germs. My cloths are covered with dog hair even though I check the lint filters first. He has already been confronted by another neighbor and acted hurt and indignant. (He's a big baby!) The owner of the building won't do anything about it because he works for them. Moving out myself is not an option. HELP! There's nothing you can do. Find a Laundromat. ask the neighbour with the dogs if he could please rinse out the machine after he is done ...fake allergies to dog hair or something along those lines. talk to your other neighbours and as a group go and talk to the landlord and tell him things need to be changed like animal bedding shouldnt be allowed to be washed in the buildings machines. if things dont change i would suggest moving to a place that the landlord is for the people in the building. best of luck with this. Take your clothes to a laundromat off-site, if you cannot move that is your only option. Sorry. Try to be stoic! You are living communally, so you are subject to the conditions that occur when all are privy to the use of the grounds and equipment. Obviously many other tenants have dogs and small ones produce shed hair as well! And more than that---the things you don't see are more likely to disease you! You don't know what the "very prissy dressed and coif person" has in their clothing and bedding and towels! Or on their hands when they handle gym equipment and counters and washer dials! If you opt to go to a public laundromatt your going to get an even larger germ pool! Get a grip! We live in society! Library books and CD's you rent, anything used by others can be contaminated! The Air for Pete's sake! You live in a complex with others sharing the property, either put on a huge body rubber and carry anti viral spray, or just chill and take normal precautions. Good luck! The manager has the right to evict him. Go to the manager with all the people who want him gone, list everything about him you don't like, including his dogs. Sign a petition if you think that will help. Call the cops if you think that will help. You should be able to have clean laundry. That's a good reason to have him evicted. Have the manager do her job. Good luck!! |
