Is this rude? I share an office with this guy and his cell phone is beeping because he got a message.?

The beeping is driving me nuts. Can I just turn off the beep? I am his supervisor and it is his work phone (which he should be carrying).

No that wouldn't be rude. Just make sure when he returns that you tell him it was beeping so he'll know he has a msg.

Its rude unless hes having an emercery

ask him nicely if he could change the tone settings of his phone. or set it to vibrate if it has it.

If you're his boss tell him to put the phone on silent.

It is rude BUT it was even ruder for him to leave the phone. Turn it off!!!

just reach over with ease and turn the beeping off. you are his supervisor after all

Yes he needs to be considerate and put the thing on complete vibrate , just ash him in a professional manner and see what happens.

does he have kids? if it's family related you gotta give him some space on that one. If it's his friends just being goofy I'd put a stop to it

If you're his supervisor ask him to just put it on vibrate so it's not disturbing...

Well if you are his supervisor i would just wait till he gets back and ask him politley to either make sure he carries it with him at all times or turn it on vibrate.

Yes, but speak to him about it and the value of returning messages to clients in a timely manor.

yes, it is rude. turn it off. good luck.

no not really ask him nicely and make a joke out of it and then you might not have that problem.

but he should be more courtesy

If your a supervisor and it is a phone owned by the company you work for you should not only turn off the beep but also get into him about not having the phone on him.

You're his supervisor. Tell him to carry it with him at work.

I think it will be fine to turn off the beep and then let him know when he returns what happened. No more beeping!

Yes, turn it off, anyways where is he, why did he left his cell phone behind

bury it under some papers inside a drawer or file...

Its not rude but if its wasting company time he shold limit the amout of time he spends playing with his personal possesions.
