How do you tell somebody to mind their own D%^& business with out being rude? |
Its a guy I have to share an office with, he watches over my sholder and reads my papers on my desk, I just want to smack him. HELP please Tell him that it is very hard to concentrate with him hovering and to please stop. ,buy them one of these cups of coffee! lol Tell him to knock it off. Just go ahead and smack him...He deserves it! Put up a privacy fence. tell him to bag back give u 50 feet mind your own business... (without d-mn) politely ignore him. thank him and then turn away. he may never get the picture if he's really dumb, but someone with any sense should. just ask him if he could please stop and that it bothers you. Sometimes, you have to be very blunt. I've said things like this, "It makes me uncomfortable when you stand over me and read and when you go through my personal papers. Please stop it now." BE LIKE " UM EXCUSE U BUD IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP U?" HE'LL MOSTLY LIKELY RELPY WITH A NO AN THEN U SAY "C THEN GET OUT OF MY AREA...****...GET UR OWN LIFE..." LOL IT SOUNDS RETARDED BUT IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!! Just say "hi, can I help you??" If he says things like, "I am just reading the paper", then just say "oh, it is a personal document, and if I need help, then I will ask you. So anything else?? when he is obviously looking/reading/staring just politely ask, print a paper asking him .. "Dont you have your own work to be doing".. or something similuar Jokingly ask what he's looking at. Maybe he'll get embarassed and stop. Or start doing it to him. Sorry, but you're gonna have to tell him bluntly to mind his own damn business! No reason to beat around the bush. Sometimes you gotta be a little aggressive, and this is the time! Tell them I feel you are being too nosy Also ask him how can I help you or don't you have enough work of your own to do instead looking over my shoulder. say you really dont want to talk about it, and it bothers you 2 talk about it. when he's standing ove your shoulder... hand him whatever he is reading... tell him you need your 3 feet... and to fall back... let me know if you need me... i got your back.. Take the papers off your desk and put them INSIDE your desk, or in a locking briefcase. LAY A PICTURE OF" TAZMANIAN DEVIL GIVING THE FINGER' RIGHT ON TOP OF YOUR DESK AND WHEN HE PEEKS OVER AGAIN...BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIGHT IN HIS MUG! do the same to him just a heck of alot more often until he gets the hint, while hes on the phone - talk to him, while he's typing - ask him about his family and dont stop talking!!! just ask ummm can i help you?? and if its seriously a problem then go to a boss or something go ahead smack that noisy bastard, that's what I would do, being nice gets you no where!! oh i had a boss like that and man was it a pain in the @$$. he was constantly over my shoulder and pretty much every five seconds ask me what i was doing and the bad part was a had to share the office with him. so what i did one day is do what he did to me. i was over his shoulder and asking him every five seconds what he was doing. over course he got annoyed by it and told me to stop but then after he told me to stop i told him "do you see how it bothers you so much that i am constantly over your shoulder looking at what you are doing, well how do you think i feel" and from then on he has not done it till this day. we got along better if you ask me. well that is what helped me do it in a nice way, hopefully this helps you, but try not to stoop too too low to his level. have a good day! just let him know that you are uncomfortable with his invasion of your space and that you would appreciate it if he would not bother your stuff. If that doesn't work then handle in the rude fashion honestly if somebody was butting into my business i wouldnt mind being rude about telling them to **** off...but since you have to deal with him everyday and you're obviously not me (i like a little conflict) you could rearrange your office area so that he is facing you and not behind you. if that is just not possible then go to your boss and ask to have him removed or if that doesnt work then you could always build a wall around your area you may not be able to do that though. im not usually the one to try to be nice about telling people to mind their own business so you may not want to take my advice (obviously). Just explain to him that it makes you uncomfortable you don't have to go into details. If he does it again say "do you mind". And if he still doesn't stop go to a supervisor and let them know it makes you uncomfortable. Maybe he should SMACK YOU! You are a rude *** bytch on Yahoo answers so I know you are probably a rude *** bytch at work too... |
