What's his deal?

There's this guy at work who I think has been flirting with me. He asked me when I delivered a check to someone that he shares an office with "how do I get such personal service?" (he was new so he had to pick up his check.) The eye contact has been intense between us and he always tries to stretch out our conversations as far as possible. He even helps me with issues with my home computer and he remembered that I had a Gateway yesterday when it's been about three weeks since I told him that and I haven't said anything about it since. The other day my friend told him I was having computer problems (she was just trying to play matchmaker) and when he came in he put his hand on top of mine on the mouse and didn't move it (in other words, it had to be somewhat conscious because if I put my hand on top of someone's accidentally, I'd move my hand when I realized it.) But the other day, when my friend decided to ask him if he likes me he told her "any other time but I'm spoken for." ????

I would be just a little bit leery of this situation. He sounds like he could be the typical "office lothario" ... interested in getting you into a sexual relationship, but with nothing beyond that.

The reason he's telling your friend that he's taken, but still flirting with you should be apparent ... he's covering his *** in case you turn him down. This way, he can tell anyone who might investigate this thing later that he made no secret of the fact he was already involved ... and couldn't possibly be guilty of coming on to you.

Beware of office romances to begin with. You would end up being the loser if you did decide to get together with him, because he's a little higher on the "food chain" than you. The "little fishes" are the ones who lose out to the bigger fishes in these situations ... ever damn time.

The next time he puts his hand over yours, casually reach over with your free hand and remove his. Don't react. Don't jump. Don't change your voice or even mention his act. Just remove his hand as coldly and unemotionally as possible ... like you're picking a bug off your hand.

That will let him know you are stronger than he is, and to put his moves where the sun doesn't shine.

he is confused. if you aren't interested, tell him so becuase he sure is.

hes a major flirt!! he obviously likes you but knows his restrictions, dont encourage him now that you know hes taken!

DUH.
He wants to sleep with you, Sherlock.
He's a guy.

well he may be taken, but gurrrl he was flirting and he may continue because if your friend said something he may now think you like him.

He's spoken for....that should answer your question. Back away from the guy and keep it professional. You don't want to get in the way of someones relationship cause he likes to flirt...and you're flattered.

He is just a flirt with a high self esteem, there is nothing with this guy but trouble unless he is thinking of ditching is current fling. Make him beg and then drop the your taken bomb on him. But still treat him normal as to not cause any hostility
