Discrimination? I want to place an Ad, "Office Space Available to Share with Professional. No Republicans. |
This is probably my first really serious question. To be honest, I just don't like Republicans. The truth of the matter is I avoid them like the plague. I have my reasons based on my experience with them. No disrespect intended but I have an extra office to rent but I can't stomach sharing space with a Republican. Any problems with discrimination laws, newspaper or professional journal editorial policies? Republicans are not a visible minority and you are not spreading hate to say this. It is no different than saying no smokers. Go ahead do it. You might have a problem finding a LIB that can afford rent. You should be ok if your willing to accept HUD. Just tell them you are a liberal. They will avoid YOU like the plague. Won't be able to stand all of your hot air with no intelligence. You don't have to write "No Republicans." Just put "Office Space Available to Share with Professional. Prefer someone who is intelligent and compassionate." I am sure no Republicans will apply. Whether or not it's the law, it's discrimination. Don't do it. We have enough discrimination occuring in the world. We don't need more. Maybe you could place ads (without the "No Republican" comment) in more liberal democrat (or whatever you are) newspapers and publications. If you do that, you may get less Republicans interested. I mean how many Republicans bother to read liberal democrat publications? If they do, they may get the hint. Yeah, I think it is discriminatory, but you people don't do that, do you? Discrimination is terrible, unless you want to do it then, somehow, you're excuses are OK. I've had problems with Blacks so it would be OK with you and the ACLU if I put that in the paper? No, of course not and frankly regardless of how many problems I've had with Blacks I know they all aren't the same. I guess you're not that open. I'd love to go in there and rent that space and then let you find out I'm a conservative Republican. I guarantee you'd be shocked and you'd never know it unless I told you. I wonder if the ACLU would take on this case? I think it's okay to discriminate based upon a political party. There is a case where a landlord didn't want to rent to an attorney and the landlord won! no problem as long as you don't mind not geting the rent This is on of them "OPEN MINDED" Liberal Democrats. This means he is open to anyone with the same opinion. Please run the ad it shows the true color of liberals. To be avoided like the plague, why would ANYONE be offended by this? Please run the ad I'd be happy to know how closed minded somebody is before renting from them. I have met MANY closed minded Liberals, like yourself, but I still reserve my opinion about individuals until I meet them. You of course do not have to do this because you are an "enlightened open minded liberal." It is discrimination. My advice as a republican is as follows: leave that part out. You can decline to share space on the grounds you don't get along without mentioning party affiliation. Discrimination does cover political views. Stereotyping people for their political beliefs is just as bad as any other stereotyping. |
