Unique work relationship.....can we be more than friends? |
I am a single woman, about 14 years older than this totally hot new guy at work. I'm a manager (not of him) and he is new, working in different departments, so we are not reporting directly to each other, but I see him during the day in specific areas of the office. We share flirty chatter, we have flirty emails and we've gone out for happy hour once (alone) with some great chat followed by a hug. I haven't dated anyone this young, and assume he thinks I'm too old for him, and am just fun to flirt with, as I'm not a risk. I catch him looking at me sometimes, but I'm not all that great to look at...so I'm not sure what the deal is. I'm attracted to him, as he's funny, sharp and talented, as well as cute. I see him chatting with other girls, but not like he does with me, and they are happily married. He is new to the area, so maybe he's looking for a fun gal-friend, but why the staring at me? Why email and call me at my desk? He speaks fluent French and teaches me a bit each day too. It sounds to me like he is attracted to you. You may be older than he is but that's not always an issue with men, especially a young man. When I was in my 20's I used to date women in their 30's. You claim that you're not that attractive but again what attracts one person to another is sometimes chemistry. I remember that I once worked in this office and was always very attracted to a woman who I worked with. It never occurred to me that other guys didn't find her attractive until I once got into a conversation about her with these guys who I worked with. When I said that I thought she was hot, they thought that I was crazy. The experience kind of sobered me up. I realized that the attraction was purely chemical and it was mutual. It's not always a question of objective beauty that attracts one person to another. There is also such a thing as inner beauty. Certain people who are not outwardly attractive have an inner beauty which attracts people. Don't be so hard on yourself. Accept the situation for what it is and see how the relationship develops. I'LL GO OUT WITH U ANYDAY HOTTI talk to him about it...there's not hurt in that. and if it doesn't work out, you guys can be friends...or with benefits or whatever. well maby he dosent knw ur age i bet that young stallion would love to get mounted by an older sexy lady...god knows i would have. but dont expect anything more than a fling or two out of it. because he is a promiscuous boy Take due precautions but venture anyway. Keep your options open. His interest may be temporary. But enjoy while the going is good .... with no strings attached. ofcourse, its called friends with benefits lol its never a good idea to date someone you work with. Even if you don't work directly with eachother. I think its posible, to be friends with benifits any takers????? |
